In an interview with Motown India, Sanjeev Taparia, Sr Vice President-Marketing, National Engineering Industries said that the moment his company heard about the Make in India concept everybody was kind of excited. 

"We are from the automotive component industry, so over the last several years the industry has been transforming itself and the effort is to become a global player. However, the kind of policy framework and infrastructure we have in our country, it’s not so easy for a local company to go global. The kind of visits Mr Modi made over the course of last year to different parts of the world and giving this slogan of Make in India that has put India in focus in the global community. A lot of branding has happened for Make in India. And the global community has made a note of that," he said.

"Make in India has opened up a new debate I would say in the country where different bodies like CII or SIAM or ACMA, they are raising some topics which will help us to grow in the global market. Those policies are being relooked by the government. Of course nothing much has happened on the ground but the framework is ready. A lot of issues that have come up like port facilities, logistic cost, GST, all these things have become a topic of discussion and over the coming years or the coming months perhaps, there will be a policy implication. So Make in India is a very exciting slogan to have and it has really put us on a global map. But it has to be backed up by good policy measures. The intention is there but they have to be put o the ground," he added..
