Special editions and the black colour have a great synergy. MG Motor India will be capitalising on this very special formula as it launches the MG Gloster Black Storm special edition on May 29, 2023. The company has already released a teaser video giving you glimpses of this new MG Gloster Black Storm.
The Black Storm special edition will be powered by the two litre twin turbo diesel engine and will have a prominent badging “Black Storm” on the side. The black coloured vehicle will have red accents on the exterior as well as the interior. Red accents will be there within the headlamps, ORVMs, side cladding at the bottom of the door, on the front and rear bumpers, etc.
The interiors will consist of black leather upholstery, centre console with black switches with an inbuilt red and white lights with diffused chrome edges, red accents in the interior door panel, below the dash, red ambient lighting, etc.
Currently, the Gloster is available in two broad trim lines, the Sharp and Savvy. Recently the company discontinued the entry-level Super variant of the Gloster. The vehicle comes with two engine options: A 2 litre turbo diesel engine and a 2 litre twin turbo diesel engine. The former is offered in the both the Sharp and Savvy trim lines, while the latter is available only in the Savvy trim line. Besides, the former features 4x2 while the twin turbo features 4x4. Both engine are mated to an 8 speed automatic transmission.
The single turbo 2.0 litre diesel engine produces 161ps@4000 rpm and a peak torque of 373.5Nm@ 1500-2400 rpm, while the Advanced Gloster twin turbo diesel engine produces a max power of 215.5ps @4000 rpm and a max torque 478.5 Nm@1500-2400rpm. The Gloster is available in in 6 and 7 seater versions with Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) with prices starting at Rs 32.59 lakh, ex showroom.
ADAS features include Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Open Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Parking Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collusion Warning, etc. The Dark Storm will be a twin turbo model and will have All Terrain System with Snow, Sand, Mud, Eco, Auto, Rock and Sport drive modes.
