Just the other day Tag Heuer
was in the news with Ranbir Kapoor of India’s Bollywood becoming its brand
ambassador. Now it is the turn of another celebrity to join hands with the
Swiss watch brand Tag Heuer. Bruno Senna has joined the TAG Heuer racing family
at a special ceremony in Sao Paulo overseen by another TAG Heuer driving great,
the actor-driver Patrick Dempsey. Senna,
the Brazilian driver, drives for Aston Martin in the FIA World Endurance Championship
and the Mahindra Formula E team. He is the newest member of the brand’s elite
squad of racing legends, which has included Juan Manuel Fangio, Jo Siffert,
Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna and Lewis Hamilton. Current members include F1
Champion Jenson Button, WRC Champion Sebastien Ogier and Patrick Dempsey. Each
embodies TAG Heuer’s motor racing values and “Don’t Crack Under Pressure”
campaign claim, a press release from TAG Heuer stated.
Bruno is Ayrton Senna’s nephew
and a top driver in Formula E. The Swiss brand is a founding partner of Formula
E and an official partner of Mahindra Racing, Bruno Senna’s Formula E team. His
co-driver is Karun Chandhok, another friend of the brand.
Bruno Senna joins TAG Heuer’s
other talented Brazilian drivers Felipe Nasr, who currently occupies second
place in the GP2 Series, and 24 Hours of Le Mans star Lucas Di Grassi, the
first driver to win a motor race in an all electric single-seater racing car at
the 2014 Beijing ePrix.
Patrick Dempsey, the founder
and top driver of Dempsey Racing, welcomed Bruno Senna to the TAG Heuer Drivers
Dream Team during an exclusive event at the Hilton Morumbi Hotel in Sao Paolo.
Journalists had the opportunity to talk with both drivers about their most
intense driving experiences, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The two men
discussed how Le Mans, the world’s most famous endurance race, is the perfect
testing ground for TAG Heuer’s “Don’t Crack Under Pressure” mindset.
Felipe Nasr then joined the
two for a special TAG Heuer Scalextric challenge, which was a remarkable sight:
three of the world’s most glamorous drivers battling it out with slot cars,
each determined to win, not willing to concede even an inch. It was a perfect
TAG Heuer moment, said the press release.
