Volkswagen Motorsport WRC team after taking all three podiums in the 10thround of the World Rally Championship 2014 at Rally Australia and also with three more rounds to go, leads the pack with 194 points standing tall with 348 points as the WRC Champions of 2014.
After a 1, 2 and 3 finishes in Australia, with Sebastian Ogier taking the win, followed by team-mates Latvala and Mickelsen clenching 2nd and 3rd respectively, Volkswagen Motorsport have successfully defended their World Rally Championship title in 2014. This was also the first 1,2,3 victory for the team.
Sebastian Ogier commented that it’s incredible that the team has clinched the title with the first ever 1-2-3 for the Volkswagen Motorsport team and the team really deserves the success.
After a hefty lead over his team-mate Latvala with 50 points, Ogier needs only one more victory in France to wrap up the drivers title as well for the 2014 WRC season. Can he do it? Or do we have to wait till the end of the season?
With the Drivers standings looking to favour Sébastien Ogier standing in 1st place with 214 points as Jari-Matti Latvala is only 50 points behind him with 164 and Andreas Mikkelsen with 125 in 3rd. Mikko Hirvonen with 83 was standing 4th and it was 5th for Thierry Neuville with 79, Can Ogier take the title? Tell us what you think with #CanHeDoIt? and tagging @MotownIndia
