The first competition day of the ninth edition of India’s biggest and toughest off-road motorsport event, The Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India, was full of intense action amidst nonstop rain. At the end of Day 1 of RFC India 2023 and as per the Provisional Results declared after the completion of 4 of the 26 Special Stages (SS) of the competition, Cedric Jordan DaSilva (co-driver Mackwin Dias) from Goa was placed at the first position with 348 points out of 400.
Giving him a tough fight was Anand V Manjooran (Chethan Chengappa) from Kerala, who was at the second spot with 346 points. The third position was taken by Dr Mohammed Fahed VP (Rajeev Lal), also from Kerala, with 325 points.
Dr Chaitanya Challa (Hamdaan Khan) from Hyderabad was at the fourth position with 247 points while Bijender Singh (Gajender Singh) from Delhi was at the fifth position on the scoreboard with 239 points.
Cedric and co-driver Mackwin Dias showed great coordination and off-roading skills throughout the day, because of which they scored 90 points in 3 of the 4 Special Stages for the day. On the other hand, Anand V Manjooran and co-driver Chethan Chengappa scored a perfect 100 in SS 4, thereby emerging as the top performers for the SS.
