Two
British icons, Land Rover and Barbour have announced their first clothing
collaboration for Autumn/Winter ‘14. According to a company statement, the
collection will include a series of men’s and women’s outerwear pieces and
accessories retailed through Barbour and Land Rover distribution channels
worldwide. The collection will be available from August 2014.
For
Land Rover, the makers of some very tough SUVs, it will be the first clothing
collaboration. And this partnership will be the first time the two brands have
officially collaborated.
“This
partnership fits perfectly with the Land Rover brand; both marques are revered
for their all-terrain and all-weather resilience allowing customers to go about
their business, whatever the conditions, without compromising on style and
comfort,” said Robin Colgan, Land Rover Global Brand Director.
“Barbour for Land Rover will produce clothing
which will draw from both brand’s rich heritage and shared understanding of how
style and functionality work together to culminate in products which are
sophisticated, capable, stylish and reliable,” said Colgan.
The
collection consists of a variety of men’s and women’s pieces, including hats,
scarfs and matching luggage sets. Each item is carefully constructed with
Barbour’s traditional fabrics including compliments of quilts, gilets and a
range of wax and wool combinations with leather trims radiating luxury and
style.
