In a 'move' to ensure the safety of kids and peace of mind for their parents, TCL subsidiary Alcatel has launched its 'Move-Time Track & Talk' Smart watch. This smart watch has been made specifically for kids and comes with GPS and calling functionality. The device is being sold exclusively through Flipkart in India for a price of Rs. 4799/-
The MoveTime supports 2G network and can be used by parents to call or send a max of 15 second long voice messages to their children. There is a 370mAh battery housed inside the watch to facilitate a claimed talking time of 1.5 hours. The watch can store up to 5 contacts and receive calls from any of the 10 pre-saved numbers. Calls from unknown numbers are not received. The smart watch can be easily paired with iOS or Android devices. Parents can track the location of their kids using the app which also has a provision to set a safe zone. If the child exits the safe zone then the parents are sent a notification. You can also set the amount of time after which you get the notification. In cases of emergency there is also an SOS button which sends a distress signal to the parents when pressed.
The MoveTime has a 0.95inch OLED display with a 96X64 pixel resolution. Keeping in mind that this watch is meant for kids between the age of 5-11 years, it weighs just a mere 40gms. The watch comes loaded with Nucleus OS and comes in two colour variants - Blue + Orange Wristband & Red + Blue Wristband. Since kids of the said age group can be naughty and tend to get themselves dirty, the watch has an IP65 certification making the MoveTime water and dust resistant.
