John
Deere’s new 6M Series Tractors are designed to meet the needs of livestock,
arable and speciality farms, and offer more power, functionality and operator
comfort than their 6030 Series predecessors. The 6M range includes models from
77 kW to 125 kW (105 to 170 engine hp), according to a company statement.
John
Deere 6M Series Tractors feature a full-frame design, three wheelbase sizes,
optional Triple Link Suspension (TLS) and an optional front axle brake to
deliver maximum braking power with minimal pedal force.
The 6115M, 6125M, 6130M and 6140M models are
equipped with Stage IIIB compliant 4.5-litre four-cylinder John Deere PowerTech
PVX engine, while the larger 6150M and 6170M are powered by a Stage IIIB
6.8-litre six-cylinder John Deere PowerTech PVX engine. Using field-proven
technologies to meet the latest emissions standards, these fuel efficient
diesel-only engines feature cooled exhaust gas recirculation (EGR), a variable
geometry turbocharger (VGT) and an exhaust filter.
For
the budget-conscious farmer, Tier 2 versions with PowerTech E engines,
compliant with US EPA Tier 2 emissions regulations, are also available. The
6105M, 6125M, 6140M, 6150M and 6170M models offer this lower-cost option with proven
performance.
The
enhanced cab offers numerous improvements, including a newly designed dashboard
with an integrated display to facilitate machine settings. By providing useful
information to the operator, the display can also be used as a performance
monitor.
The
proven John Deere PowrQuad and AutoQuad Plus transmissions allow smooth gear
changes on the move, assisted by a standard declutch button. Thanks to the
newly available EcoShift mode, engine rpm is automatically reduced when
reaching high speeds. Adding significant customer value, this EcoShift feature
improves the tractor’s fuel efficiency and further reduces noise levels.
