“Child safety is a primary
concern for parents as well as school authorities. With both parents working
there is always an anxiety and concern about the little ones going to school.
MapmyIndia’s child safety solution has been especially developed to address
their concerns. I am happy that a leading automotive company like VECV has
joined us in our mission to secure school going children. A new breed of highly
secure and connected school buses have been developed, synergizing VECV’s
expertise in manufacturing high quality school transport vehicles and
MapmyIndia’s experience in developing, integrating and implementing
state-of-the-art safety solutions. This, I am confident, will prove to be a big
boon for the schools and a matter of satisfaction for parents,” says Rakesh
Verma, Managing Director, MapmyIndia
P Ravi Shankar, Executive Vice
President, Sales, Marketing & After-market VECV says, “The safety aspect in
school buses is of paramount importance. As a manufacturer, it is our moral
responsibility to ensure maximum security in transportation through our buses.
The integrated safety solutions in our buses are a step forward in terms of
making our products state-of-the-art and leading to direct benefits for passengers.”
The integrated safety solution
deploys state-of-the-art GPS tracking, AV and Internet technologies to build a
foolproof child-safety system. It addresses most safety and compliance concerns
of parents as well as the school. The solution incorporates Vehicle tracker,
RFID tags for children, on-board cameras (in front and the back of the bus) and
DVR along with GPRS connectivity for live two-way communications. These will
track and report child’s movements during school hours. Parents will be sent
important alerts of various activities of the child during the day as they
happen. In case of emergencies immediate alerts will be sounded for swift
response.
How it works
The system combines smart
technologies to offer best-in-class features like Driver Authorisation,
Location Entry/Exit alerts, Boarding and Deboarding SMS/Email alerts, Live
tracking, MapmyIndia fleet management etc. that help schools ensure that
children are safe and sound while they are on the school buses. With the aid of
on-board AV systems that facilitate live feed, the behavior of adults like
driver, helper and even the teacher on the bus can be constantly monitored in
real-time. This will help take preventive measures much before misnomers
snowball into full-blown crisis. The driver authorization feature ensures that
only the designated driver can start the bus.
To address unforeseen
emergencies in transit, the buses have an emergency button, which when pressed,
will set off alerts for immediate action. Further adding to the safety cover,
the system also provides for remote disabling of the bus, speeding alerts
prevent rash and negligent driving. The ‘Reports scheduling on email’ feature
helps ensure that parents are kept informed about the pick up and drop timings
and the changes thereof to avoid any confusion and inconvenience.
For location intelligence and
tracking, which are critical components, the system uses MapmyIndia maps,
India’s most localised maps with voice guidance. They offer India’s most
comprehensive, exhaustive, detailed and unmatched coverage with –10.54 million
unique destinations (Points of Interests), expanded coverage of over 2 million
kilometers of road network, 7068 cities at street level with house address
level data for 80 cities, 600000 villages and 3D & 2D landmarks in 86
cities.
