The 12ft deck-length truck features two complete container solutions, offering both fast and slow charging options tailored to specific application needs. The comprehensive service package considers factors such as charging infrastructure availability, operational requirements, charging times, battery capacity, and overall energy management strategies for the fleet. Additionally, the vehicle includes Eicher's advanced telematics solution and support from My Eicher services, ensuring maximum vehicular uptime for on-time delivery of e-commerce goods, thereby contributing to sector growth and overall economic development.

Volvo Eicher Commercial Vehicles with revenues of Rs 18,000 crore plus, and manufacturing facilities in Pithampur, Dewas, Baqggad and Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh, is getting more and more serious with electric commercial vehicles. The Eicher PRO 2055 EV is a 100 per cent connected vehicle with telematics for higher operational efficiency  and business profitability.

With a wheel base of 2935mm and a TCD of 11.7metres and ground clearance of 160mm, this 5.5 tons truck with a 2.2 tonnes payload  is primarily meant for intra city transportation. It has a certified range of 162 km. It has a 64.4kWh battery capacity that enables the PMSM motor to generate  a peak power of 91.3 kw and a peak torque of 310 Nm. The HV battery comes in two packs which are placed on either side of the truck. The truck has an automatic transmission with push button shift selector. With a loading span of 12 feet, it comes in three variants CBC, CC and MSC.  The cargo volume is 18 cu metres. The front suspension is parabolic and the rear is semi elliptical. The tyre size is 7.5R16-16PR.

Efficiency of the vehicle is improved considerably thanks to the telematics cluster (IDIS 2.0), grease free suspension, tiltable cabin for ease of serviceability, storage space inside the cabin, walk through cabin, efficient motor, controller and BMS, besides fast charging of 2 to 3 hours and regenerative braking. The AC slow charging takes up to 10 hours.

As for safety and reliability, this vehicle comes with all-wheel disc brake, front double panel cabin for protection, anti roll bars, CED painted chassis and 40 per cent more survival space in roof and 75 per cent in front collision. It comes with IP rated battery pack and HV cable. It has a reliable LFP battery and motor. The truck can attain a maximum speed of 75kmph and has a gradeability of 24per cent.

For comfort and ergonomics, the truck has pasted windshield, DRL headlamp, power steering, a comfortable driver seat with 180mm seat travel, best in class ventilation with 850 cmh airflow, storage space and insulated cabin.

And of course being a fully electric vehicle, it has no fossil fuel consumption, zero tailpipe emission and definitely less noise pollution. Calling it the smart city truck, the Pro 2055 EV is aimed at business that involve parcel and courier, FMCG goods and e-commerce.
