Aston Martin Vanquish launched in India at Rs 8.85 crore
Altigreen, a pioneering manufacturer of electric vehicles for India’s last-mile sector announced a partnership with Bolt.Earth, the leading provider of charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. They plan to conquer range anxiety among users of electric 3-wheelers by co-deploying 100 3.3 kW affordable charging points during the first month, and over 5000 charging points during the next 3years.
India has witnessed a recent rise in demand for electric 3-wheelers in the last-mile delivery segment, especially in the L5N (goods) category, where electric 3-wheelers now command 21% penetration till date. Both Bolt.Earth and Altigreen recognise, however, that the country’s current charging infrastructure is too limited to fully support this electrification trend. In the absence of readily accessible charging points, range anxiety is deterring many fossil-fuel 3-wheeler users from transitioning to electric vehicles. As a result, through timely deployment of charging solutions, this partnership will prove instrumental in removing the major obstacles to electric 3-wheeler adoption.
Dr. Amitabh Saran, Founder& CEO, Altigreen says, “The partnership will increase EV confidence among Altigreen’s customers, dealers, and lease operators, through accessible and cost-effective charging. By joining forces, we are addressing the pressing issue of range anxiety that has hindered the widespread adoption of electric 3-wheelers. Through the deployment of accessible and affordable charging points, we aim to empower users and instill confidence in the potential of electric vehicles. This partnership is a stride towards a future where electric mobility is seamlessly integrated into our everyday lives”.
According to Raghav Bharadwaj, Head of Strategy and Thought Leadership at Bolt.Earth, “Bolt.Earth is dedicated to revolutionising the worldwide EV landscape through the provision of easily accessible charging infrastructure. Our partnership with Altigreen is in perfect alignment with our mission to position India as a prominent hub for the electric three-wheeler market. This alliance will ensure that EV auto drivers across all regions have hassle-free access to our cutting-edge charging facilities. We eagerly anticipate collaborating with esteemed partners like Altigreen as we strive to bolster India's EV ecosystem”.
To spread awareness, Altigreen will engage in cross-promotional activities to educate electric 3-wheeler users about Bolt.Earth’s app, which helps drivers locate nearby charging points with ease. In-store and on-the-ground campaigns will further publicize the partnership’s perks.
Bolt.Earth and Altigreen’s partnership will catalyse accelerated EV adoption across India. Both companies are targeting rapid expansion goals, recognising the need for urgent and decisive measures in the quest for a sustainable EV-charging ecosystem.
