Escorts Limited, India’s leading tractor manufacturer, has unveiled its ‘Jai Kisan Series’ of tractors in Gujarat. The new ‘Escorts Jai Kisan Series’ is a path breaking initiative that recognises the new market order for new and varied needs of the Indian farmer, changing tractor usage for specialized applications and usage of modern and heavy-duty implements & attachments, thereby offering wider options for agricultural, infrastructure as well as specialised applications for land development activities. Speaking at the launch, Rohtash Mal, Executive Director and CEO, Escorts Agri Machinery Group, noted, “Farm mechanization is the need of the hour and a prominent vector that will enhance farmer productivity & profitability. Tractors and appropriate attachments & implements are the bridge that would help the farmer in this domain. With the advent of newer applications across cropping cycle as well as use in commercial applications, there is a need for tractors to be ‘Customised’ & ‘Specialised’ to maximize productivity. The launch of the ‘Jai Kisan Series’ reaffirms our commitment to continuously enhance our products to suit specific needs of our customers. We are blending market knowledge and customer needs to deliver solutions that are purposeful and that make economic sense.” “The launch brings us closer to the ‘Jai Kisan’ philosophy of empowering the Indian farmer by providing solutions that will enhance agricultural productivity and improve quality of life in rural India. We would like to create a far-reaching positive impact in bringing a qualitative change and revolutionising India’s agri sector”, he further added. Presently available across all Escorts network in Gujarat, the new Escorts Jai Kisan Series will come in five new categories – ValueMaxx, LoadMaxx, AgMaxx, InfraMaxx and SuperMaxx. While the Valuemaxx is the variant for basic agricultural purposes, Loadmaxx and Agmaxx variants specialize in haulage-based applications and specialized agri-applications respectively. The Supermaxx series is ideal for all types of agriculture and non-farming purposes besides offering add-on applications for dual needs whereas; the Inframaxx variant specializes in infrastructure-based applications. The ‘Jai Kisan Series is currently available in the both Farmtrac & Powertrac line of Escorts tractors. Gujarat is one of the leading states in India in terms of agriculture yields and productivity. Gujarat contributes about 7 per cent of the total volumes of Escorts and is therefore an important market for the Escorts Group. Says Rohtash Mal, “The company has recorded 141.8 per cent of sales growth in Gujarat in last quarter Q2 (January – March 2011) of the current financial year which is higher than the industry average of 92.7 percent in the State for the same quarter last year. This has been made possible through customer support programmes such as 'Sewa Chakra' and 'Humrakshak', increasing points of sale and providing innovative products and solutions such as the world's first 'Inverter Tractor'. We are looking at introducing more such customer focused initiatives which will help us garner larger sales volume. We believe that the launch of ‘Jai Kisan Series’ will go a long way in adding to our topline.”
