bauma 2022 in Germany showcases modern machines, tech that build our world

The 33rd edition of bauma, the world's leading trade fair for construction machinery, building material machines, mining machines, construction vehicles and construction equipment entered its last day on Oct 30, 2022 at the Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich, Germany. The show started on October 24.

More than 3,100 exhibitors from around 60 countries showcased their technologies and the skyline was dotted with a maze of massive cranes set up by different manufacturers. The show saw participation from a host of manufacturers of forklifts, cranes, machines and equipment, building material machines, mining machines, tyres, construction vehicles and construction equipment.

The show was spread over a total of 614,000 square meters (the same as roughly 86 soccer fields), split into 414,00 square meters of outdoor space and 200,000 square meters of hall space. bauma is the largest trade fair in the world in terms of exhibition space. In addition to numerous excavators, dump trucks, asphalting machines and mixing towers, visitors could also witness the “crane forest” with more than 30 cranes.

The focus was not just on the huge machinery, but also on modern technology, with electrification and computer driven equipment on display. Participants included companies like ABB, Allison Transmission, Apollo Tyres (Europe), BKT Euripe Sri, Borgwarner, Bosch, Caterpillar, Continental AG, DAF Trucks, Daimler Truck AG, Fuso, Dana, Doosan, Tenneco and Goetze of Federal-Mogul Friedberg, Fuchs Lubricants, Hitachi Construction Machinery, Hyundai Everdigm, John Deere, Johnson Control, Kamat, Kawasaki Precision Machinery, Kohler, Komatsu, Kubota, Lanxess, Leibherr, MAN + Hummel GmbH, Scania, Tadano, Tatra Trucks, Volvo Penta, Webasto Group, Wirtgen Group (branch of John Deere), Zeppelin Baumaschinen GmbH and ZF Group, besides several others.
