VE
Commercial Vehicles has always been known as a frontrunner when it comes to
offering strong commitment towards its partner ecosystem. The driver community
is especially one of the key focus areas for the company. Further to this endeavours,
the company conducted a month-long series of activities, to observe the Road
Safety month. It included over 140+driver awareness programmes by VECV which
included driver trainings covering crucial aspects of safe transportation, emission
control methods in BSVI Technology and its functions and maintenance, using
high impact driver education series in multi-lingual content.
Additionally,
close to 180 vision and hearing healthcare screening programs for transport
segment and 22 driver awareness programmes through the Driver Pragati Kendra associations
were also set up. This stems from Eicher’s belief that ensuring correct
eyesight and overall health and well-being of CV drivers is critical for
surviving safe and secure drive times spanning lengthy hours. Some of the key
states tapped were Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West
Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan and
Maharashtra among others.
The
company also conducted extensive road safety programmes through inter-school
quiz competitions, snake ladder competitions, picture quizzes, video screening
van and household surveys in Indore. During the programme, road safety and
driver education films produced by Eicher were screened extensively.
All
of these activities were facilitated by the Eicher Group Foundation in
association with SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Dr.Shroff
Charity Eye Hospital and partner hospitals. The Indore Police and implementing
agencies like Green Arrows and Reserve Indore contributed immensely to the
successful observation of the safety month.
