The Alliance TracPRO tyres are made by ATG which specialises in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of Agriculture, Forestry, Construction, Industrial, Earthmoving, Mining and Port tyres under Alliance, Galaxy and Primex brands.

The automation and mechanisation of farms has seen a huge rise in the last few years and has been responsible for increasing yield across the country. Tractors constitute for over 80 per cent of the total number of agricultural equipment sold in India. With more than 6,00,000 tractors being sold in 2017, there is an increased demand for ‘India’ specific tyres.

 In less than two years of its launch, Alliance TracPro tyres have found traction within the Indian tractor sector due to its incredible performance in the field as well as on the road. “With the superior performance of TracPRO tyres we are sure to address the unique needs of the Indian market where tractors are often used on the road almost as much as in the fields. Our decades of expertise in the international markets and insights about the domestic market have given us the understanding to develop technologically superior tyres in the category,” says  Angelo Noronha, President – APAC & MEA.

With the ATG network of 300 super dealers in more than 20 states in India, TracPRO tyres are now readily available to meet the growing needs of the Indian agricultural sector.

The range of the company’s tractor includes the TracPROR-1 (348)- Tractor Rear Tyre and the TracPRO F-2 (303) - Tractor Front Tyre.

The newcomer, for which order books opened at the beginning of September, will be presented alongside its Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner/Rifter siblings at the press conference on September 19 (13:25 CET, Booth C 64 in Hall 13).

 The new Combo offers a wide range of variants to choose from including a standard version with 4.40 metres length, a long version with 4.75 metres and a spacious five seater crew cab. Opel’s new compact transporter also outshines most of its main competitors with a load volume of up to 4.4m3, a payload of up to 1,000 kg and a loading length of up to 3,440 mm for objects and work material.

 An especially ingenious feature is that the distance between the two wheel arches is wide enough to enable the loading of up to two Euro pallets. And extremely long utensils such as wooden planks can be stowed at an angle thanks to the optional roof hatch. And, a unique feature in the segment is also introduced in the new generation Opel Combo: a sensor-based overload indicator1 that, at a press of a button, allows the driver to make sure the vehicle is not overloaded.

In addition, the new Combo comes with further innovative technologies and up to 19 assistance systems that make driving, manoeuvring, transporting goods or a crew easier, safer and more comfortable. The optional Surround Rear Vision1 supports the driver and greatly improves visibility of panel vans or of fully loaded vehicles. Furthermore, a second camera in the exterior door mirror on the passenger side ensures that the driver no longer needs to worry about the blind spot on this side of the vehicle. And, the new Combo can also be equipped with the new, sensor-based Flank Guard system that helps prevent annoying and expensive bumps or scratches while turning at low speeds.

Those professionals whose workplaces require enhanced traction in mud, sand or snow can also upgrade their front-wheel drive Combo with the electronic IntelliGrip traction control system and with the “worksite” set-up. This includes an increased ground clearance of 30 mm, front stiffness antiroll bars, increased tyre diameter and rear variable rate springs. And the optional ultra-modern Apple CarPlay and Android Auto infotainment systems ensure that drivers easily find their way to and from even the most remote locations.

The new, fifth generation Combo has been developed on a completely new architecture within Groupe PSA, the undisputed European leader in the commercial vehicle business. Therefore, it is no surprise that it comes as the most competent vehicle on the market place. It is available in various variants allowing countless applications.

“Increasing the safety of vulnerable cyclists and pedestrians is an important social responsibility,” says Gilles Mabire, head of the Commercial Vehicles & Services Business Unit. “Accidents caused by turning trucks are particularly in focus because they are often serious. We at Continental are fully aware of our responsibility, in line with our Vision Zero strategy, and are therefore bringing a sophisticated system onto the market with our radar-based solution,” Mabire adds.

 “We believe that our solution is ideal for detecting cyclists in the blind spot, distinguishing them from other objects, and avoiding serious accidents. Unlike camera-based or ultrasound-based systems, the sensor system detects whether it really is a cyclist or a pedestrian,” says Georg Kliewer, head of aftermarket products for special vehicles at Continental. “The package is also easy to install,” he notes.

Continental’s turn assist system for retrofitting detects vulnerable road users by means of radar sensors. The system is eligible for funding from the German Federal Ministry of Transport. Continental is also developing a radar-based solution for light commercial vehicles

RightViu can be quickly and easily fitted to vehicles in just a few short steps and does not require a display in the cabin. The radar is installed on the mount of the rear-view mirror, so no holes must be made in the vehicle body. The system uses the existing CAN bus in the vehicle. Time-consuming work, such as laying additional cables in the cab, is eliminated. The only requirement is that the radar must be installed at a height of at least two meters so that it has the right detection range. This condition can be met by almost all buses and heavy trucks. Continental’s developers are currently working on a solution for light commercial vehicles that will also be radar-based.

The radar ensures the particularly reliable detection of other road users beside the vehicle. The monitored area is four meters to the side of the vehicle and up to 14 meters behind the front, so RightViu even exceeds the area required by the BMVI. VRU (Vulnerable Road User) software evaluates the information from the radar sensors. If a cyclist is within the coverage area, the driver is warned acoustically and visually. For its radar technology, Continental uses large-scale automotive production technology and the know-how of its experts for driver assistance systems as original equipment. The technology company is also working on the development of a technically more complex original equipment solution that uses artificial intelligence for pose estimation.

The turn assist system from Continental, which can be retrofitted, is easy to install because it is designed to be mounted directly beneath standard rear-view mirrors.
