New Holland Fiat India (NHFI), one of the leading agricultural equipment companies in India, celebrated the 250,000th tract or rolled out of the assembly line of its Greater Noida facility. During the ceremony, Rakesh Malhotra, Head of NHFI, handed the key to the tractor - a New Holland 5500 - to its customer Hema Raghuwanshi from Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh.
This important milestone comes just three years after New Holland rolled out its 150,000th tractor, highlighting the remarkable growth in its tractor business. A subsidiary of CNH Global and part of the Fiat Industrial Group, NHFI has expanded its business vision beyond its technologically superior range of 32 hp to 75 hp tractors. The company also manufactures the 8000 family of 3- and 4-cyliner Tier 3 engines, 3 families of transmissions, axles and other components. It has become the first company in India to offer complete farming solutions from sowing to harvesting with a wide range of implements and hay and forage equipment, as well as specialised mechanisation. Its unique product offering includes sugarcane harvesters, cotton pickers, biomass solutions, balers, mowers and choppers.
Franco Fusignani, Head of Fiat Industrial Asia Pacific Operations, who presided over the official ground breaking ceremony of the Greater Noida plant in 1998, commented about the milestone, “I have been closely involved in our history in India from the very beginning, following its progress as it has been anticipating and meeting the changing needs of farmers. Our success has also come from the careful attention to the customer, which extends beyond high productivity farming techniques, fuel consumption and operator comfort to include a focus on the environment and sustainable practices. This is a source of great pride and I am confident that our company will continue to support as effectively the future development of Indian farming.”
Stefano Pampalone, Head of Operations for India, Pakistan, Far East and Japan, speaking on the occasion said, “India is an extremely important market for the Group. Noida’s facility is a key international hub for us. We export tractors and components worldwide. Approximately 25% of the tractors are distributed in about 50 countries, primarily in Africa, the Middle East, North America and Australia.”
Rakesh Malhotra, Head of New Holland Fiat India, added, “We established our presence in India in 1998 with the first ever 75 HP category tractors and since then have consistently offered technologically superior products, exemplary training and after-sales-service to take care of the discerning needs of the Indian farmers. The numerous quality certifications awarded to the Greater Noida plant are proof of the high standards we maintain. Today, on this special occasion, we wish to renew our commitment to our customers and thank them for the trust they have placed in us.”
