Ford launches Sports Editions of Figo and Aspire

Who doesn’t like fun? Who doesn’t like sporty stuff?  Ford India has put all those fun and sporty elements in their new cars—the Ford Figo and the Ford Aspire-- by launching the Sports Editions of these vehicles.

The Sports editions of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire now feature a dozen design and performance enhancements. The Ford Figo Sports Edition will be available across dealerships (ex-showroom Delhi) at Rs 721,600 (1.5 Diesel Titanium) and Rs 631,900 (1.2 Petrol Titanium). The Ford Aspire in Sports Edition is priced at Rs 760,600 (1.5 Diesel Titanium) and Rs 650,900 (1.2 Petrol Titanium). The Figo and Aspire Sports Editions are being built in Sanand, Gujarat

New features of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire Sports Editions

The sports editions of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire feature a tuned suspension and bigger and wider 15-inch alloy wheels. These enhance the fun-to-drive character of these Ford models and also improved their ride quality.

A rear spoiler has been added to the Figo Sports Edition to improve aerodynamics for a more refined performance.

The Figo and Aspire Sports Edition make driver and passenger safety a top priority and will be equipped with dual front driver and passenger airbags, along with ABS and EBD as standard.

The Sports Edition cars will also feature MyFord Dock – which offers drivers a unique solution for storing, mounting and charging mobile phones, MP3 player, and satellite navigation systems, and for integrating these devices into the car’s entertainment system. When not in use, the dock can be closed out of sight.

Engines of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire Sports Editions

Both the models are available with a choice of two powertrains -- 1.2l TiVCT petrol engine, generating a peak power of 87hp and fuel efficiency of 18.12 KM/l and 1.5l TDCi diesel engine that generates 99hp and fuel efficiency of 24.29 KM/l.  The engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission.

Styling of the Ford Figo and Ford Aspire Sports Editions

Both Ford Figo and Aspire Sports Editions boast of fresh exterior changes that include sporty grille, black inset on headlamp bezel and smart, dynamic graphics on the sides and rear. An all-new black honeycomb grille across Figo Sports Edition further enhances the bold and trademark trapezoidal grille. The dual-tone exterior with a contrasting black painted roof, all-new black alloys and outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs) enhance the hatchback’s sportier stance. The Aspire Sports Edition also dons a new grille with smart black painted bars.

As for the interiors, Sports Edition of the Ford Figo and the Ford Figo Aspire come with sporty all-black interiors – from inner door handles to the centre console. All occupants inside Figo and Aspire Sports Editions will notice the change in colours and materials to create a premium environment.

The Ford Figo Sports Edition seats will don red stitching while Aspire Sports Edition’s cabin will feature sophisticated fog grey stitching. The steering is leather wrapped and uses contrasting coloured seams. Both the cars will continue to have a 20 unique spaces for storage.

Thanks to a powerful automatic climate control system, passengers will find the all black interior space offering a lot of greater comfort. Featuring the high-efficiency compressor and condenser, the air conditioner can bring the cabin of a vehicle that has been sitting in the hot sun to below 25 degrees in less than 15 minutes, faster than any of its competitors.

The Ford Figo and Aspire Sports Editions will be available in five and seven exciting colours respectively ranging across Ruby Red, Sparkling Gold, Oxford White, Tuxedo Black, Deep Impact Blue, Ingot Silver and Smoke Grey.
