Lexus made its debut in India with their unveiling of three models,
the RX 450 SUV, ES 300h Saloon and their range topping LX 450d. The new Lexus
LS which was debuted at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show also made a guest appearance
at the exclusive media event in New Delhi and will be made available in the
Indian market early in 2018.
The manufacturer has priced the ES 300h at Rs. 55.27 lakh
(ex-showroom Delhi) while the RX 450h Luxury will cost Rs. 1.07 crore
(ex-showroom Delhi) and the RX 450h F Sport has been priced at Rs. 1.10 crore
(ex-showroom Delhi). Prices for the range topping LX 450d SUV have not been
announced yet and will be disclosed at a later date.
The company has made its debut in India with a hybrid focus line up.
The models will be made available at guest experience centres In New Delhi,
Gurgaon, Mumbai and Bengaluru. Additionally, the company will has also catered
to after sales centres in Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Chennai and Kochi.
The Lexus ES 300h gets a 2.5 litre, 4 cylinder, petrol power plant
which puts out 158.24bhp at 5700rpm and 213Nm of torque at 4500rpm. The hybrid
system in the ES 300h gets a total output of 151Kw and is powered by a Nickel -
Metal Hybrid battery type. The 2.5L engine has been mated to an E-CVT transmission.
In terms of dimensions the ES 300h is 4915mm long, 1820mm wide and 1450mm high.
The saloon gets a wheelbase of 2820mm and a ground clearance of 151mm. The
saloon can achieve a top speed of 185kmph and goes from 0-100kmph in 8.5
seconds.
Their flagship SUV the LX 450d is powered by a 4.5 litre, 8
cylinder, V-type diesel engine whish belts out 261.5bhp at 3400rpm and turns
650Nm of torque from 1600 to 2600rpm. The engine has been mated to a 6-speed
automatic transmission with an AI (Artificial Intelligence) shift system. The
SUV also gets a 4 wheel active height control and adaptive variable suspension
setup. In dimensions the LX 450d is 5080mm long, 1980mm wide and 1865mm high.
The SUV gets a wheel base of 2850mm and a ground clearance of 225mm. The top
end SUV gets a 0-100kmph time of 8.6 seconds and can attain a top speed of 210kmph.
The Lexus RX 450h has been launched in two variants, the first is
the RX Luxury while the second is the RX F Sport. The RX SUVs are powered by a
3,456cc, V6 petrol engine which produces 308bhp at 6000rpm and churns out a max
torque of 335Nm at 4600rpm. The RX SUVs are 4890mm long, 1895mm wide and 1685mm
high. They get a ground clearance of 195mm and a wheelbase of 2790mm. The SUV
can achieve a top speed of 200kmph and gets a 0-100kmph time of 7.7seconds.
The vehicles will get some features such as HUD (Heads Up Display),
remote boot release (touchless), LED headlamps, wireless charging, illuminated
handles with puddle lamps, leather crafted shift knob, LED cornering lights,
stop start function, adaptive variable suspension, Lexus Hybrid Drive, park
assist, 360 degree protection, tyre pressure alert and a multiple SRS airbags.
