Sporty elegance is the
identity of the BMW 5 Series Sedan. The M aerodynamics package and 18-inch M
light alloys featuring a double spoke design contribute towards enhanced
driving dynamics and an exceptionally powerful appearance. Powerful air inlets
give the flow-optimised front apron more presence. Side skirts with additional
contour lines sharpens the presence and is perfectly rounded off by the rear
apron with exhaust pipe finishers in Dark Chrome and a striking diffusor in
Dark Shadow metallic.
The Adaptive LED Headlights,
‘M’ badge on front wings and M designation on the door sill strip contours
generates a masculine look.
The latest generation BMW
TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine in the new BMW 520d M Sport has
state-of-the-art fuel injection technologies for enhanced efficiency, as well as
innovative turbocharging technology. The 1995 cc diesel engine combines Common
Rail direct injection and a turbo charger with variable turbine geometry to
deliver a power output of 190 hp and a peak torque of 400 Nm. It takes just 7.7
seconds to sprint from 0 to 100 km/hr and the top speed is 233 km/hr.
The eight-speed Steptronic
automatic transmission performs smooth, almost imperceptible gear shifts. At
any time, in any gear, the transmission collaborates perfectly with the engine,
enabling it to develop its full power and efficiency. For even greater driving
pleasure, the eight-speed Steptronic transmission is available with steering
wheel paddle shifters.
The BMW 5 Series portfolio
consists of two diesel engines (520d and 530d) which are locally produced in
Chennai and a petrol engine (520i) available as CBU (Completely built-up) unit.
