Ford’s iconic muscle car, the Mustang is finally is ready for Indian roads. The right hand drive Ford Mustang will be priced at Rs 65 lakh (ex showroom Delhi). The Mustang will be powered by a 5.0L V8 petrol engine, churning out a 395.5 hp of peak power. This will be the only version that will be available in India, though the car in the US comes with various engine options. The left hand drive Mustangs comes with engine options of 3.7 litre V6, 2.3 litre EcoBoost, 5 litre V8 and also in its racing avatars, the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R, both powered by a 5.8 litre V8 engine.
Indians have to be happy with just one engine option. This engine produces 395hp of peak power and a peak torque of 515 Nm. Both the power and the torque are lower than the ones available in the US. For a car with a similar engine abroad, the peak power and torque are 435hp and 524Nm respectively. In its first year of global availability including in RHD markets, Ford Mustang became the world’s best-selling sports coupe. According to registration data from IHS Automotive, Ford sold around 110,000 Mustang Coupes globally in 2015 – topping all other competitors.
The Ford Mustang will be available in six colour options -- Absolute Black, Ingot Silver, Oxford White, Triple Yellow Tricoat, Magnetic and the signature Race Red.
Sporting a sleek design, the new Ford Mustang features 19-inch wheels, automatic HID headlamps, LED tail lamps, a rear diffuser, dual-zone climate control, 9-speaker sound system, and voice-enabled SYNC 2 connectivity with an 8-inch colour touchscreen as standard equipment.
The Ford Mustang will go on sale in Delhi and Mumbai in the first phase.

Since the Mustang first went on sale in 1964, Ford has sold more than 9 million vehicles.
