Mercedes- Benz India has launched their Edition E to celebrate 20 years of the E-Class in India. The E-Class was one of the first luxury cars to be manufactured in the country and has had the longest manufacturing run for any luxury vehicle in India. The E 200 ‘Edition E’ has been priced at Rs. 48.60 lakh while the E 250 CDI ‘Edition E’ has been launched for Rs. 50.76 lakh and the E 350 CDI ‘Edition E’ for Rs. 60.61 lakh (All prices are ex-showroom Pune).
The company began manufacturing the E-Class in the year 1995 ever since then more than 32,000 units of the vehicle have been sold. The ‘Edition E’ has a sporty design, comfort and luxury with many safety features. The vehicle was launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Piyush Arora, Executive Director, Operations, Mercedes-Benz India at the company’s Chakan plant.

We are commemorating this stupendous production accomplishment with the launch of a special ‘Edition E’. The launch of the ‘Edition E’ strongly underlines our strategy of periodically refreshing our existing best-selling products, enabling to win customer confidence and offer them value driven products.”
The E 200 version of the E-Class comes with a 1991cc mill which produces 184hp at 5500rpm and 300Nm of torque from 1200-4000rpm. The E 250 CDI comes with a 2143cc engine which makes 204hp at 4200rpm and 500Nm of torque from 1600-1800rpm while the E 350 CDI comes with a 2987cc engine which is capable of producing 265hp at 3800rpm and 620Nm of torque from 1600-2400rpm. While the E 200 can go from 01-100kmph in 7.9 seconds the E 250 CDI and E 350 CDI can do the same in 7.5 and 6.6 seconds respectively.
On the safety front the vehicle comes with adaptive airbags and NECK-PRO head restraints system. The vehicle also features adaptive brake lights, intelligent light system, SD card navigation, MB Apps, Sporty brake pedals, THERMOTRONIC Automatic Air Conditioning, Memory seats with 3 settings, Active Park Assist with camera, High resolution color media display (20.3 cm), ‘Edition E’ badge, Illuminated Star, Black hub caps, New look fibre-topic tail lights and an Electronic Panoramic sunroof (with PRE-SAFE closing function).
