Ford India has launched an updated version of their highly
successful compact SUV, the EcoSport starting at a price of Rs. 6,79,563/-
(ex-showroom Delhi).

extremely well for its quality and value package across the globe,” said Nigel
Harris, President and Managing Director, Ford India. “Ahead of the festive
season, we have made our clever, compact SUV even more stylish with a host of
smart features and enhanced power to delight consumers.”
Engines in the New
EcoSport
With 3 engine options on offer, the Ford has upped the power
on the 1.5L TDCI diesel engine with a max 99bhp, the same found on the recently
launched Figo and Figo Aspire. Mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, the fuel
economy has also been improved to a 22.27kmpl.
The award winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine which produces 125bhp
and a fuel economy of 18.88kmpl will now be available with the new Trend+
variant along with the updated 15L TDCI engine as an option.
The 1.5L TI-VCT petrol engine that produces 110bhp, which now
also does duty in the Figo and the Aspire with the 6 speed dual clutch
automatic transmission and has a fuel economy of 15.85kmpl. In the EcoSport,
the same engine also comes with the 5 speed manual transmission.
Exterior features of
the New EcoSport
With the updated engines Ford has also made some slight
changes to the exterior of the car. The new EcoSport now comes with automatic
headlamps, signature light guide, Daytime Running lights, electro-chroming
mirrors that deflect beams of vehicles behind, rain sensing wipers, and another
extra exterior colour option (Golden Bronze) in addition to the 7 existing ones
(Mars Red, Diamond White, Panther Black, Kinetic Blue, Moondust Silver, Chill
Metallic and Smoke Grey)
Interior features of
the New EcoSport
The inner door handles, cluster rings, cluster appliqué,
window regulator switches and air register tabs all get new chrome treatments
in the new EcoSport. More attention to detail has also been given to the fit
and finish of the leather upholstery of the interior like the hand brake lever
and the steering wheel.
Clever Gadgets and safety
equipment of the New EcoSport
With use of high and ultra high strength steel in about half
of the body structure, ford has also managed to keep the EcoSport as light as
possible. Customers also get up to 6 airbags for driver and passenger
protection,
In addition to safety equipment, Ford has also kitted the
new EcoSport with Ford SYNC with AppLink, Ford Emergency Assistance feature
from the Figo and Aspire, in collaboration MapMyIndia, now SYNC Applink users
can also check nearby attractions in India through ‘Explore’.
