German luxury car maker Audi
has launched its super sporty car, the new Audi RS 7 Sportback in India for Rs 1,40,20,750/-
(ex-showroom Mumbai and Delhi). This powerful and mean machine was unveiled by
Joe King, Head, Audi India
This five-door Sportback has
all the elements of a sportscar. Under its hood is a powerful four- litre V8 engine with cylinder on demand technology. The quattro drive
and intelligent lightweight design makes the car ensure a superb driving experience.
Since its launch last year it has delighted its customers and the company is
now confident that the new Audi RS 7 Sportback will further entrench the Audi brand
as the leader in the luxury sportscar segment in India, said King.
For the first time, Audi has
introduced the Audi Matrix LED headlamps on the new Audi RS 7 Sportback. The lamp
cluster dynamically alters the high beam on a real time basis with the sole aim
of not dazzling the oncoming traffic and the vehicle(s) in the front. The car’s
hybrid aluminum design results in roughly 15 percent less weight than a
comparable all-steel body, thanks to Audi’s lightweight construction
technology.
The twin-turbo V8 4.0 TFSI engine
with 3993 cc displacement, produces 560 hp between 5,700 and 6,600 rpm, with a
peak 700 Nm of torque available from 1,750 to 5,500 rpm. The Audi RS 7
Sportback consumes on average just 9.8 litres of fuel per 100 kilometers,
thanks to its efficient Cylinder on Demand technology (COD). What it does is
that it deactivates four cylinders in part load Operation. It thereby achieves
comparatively low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions without compromising
on the performance.
Slight modifications have been
made to the bumper, with its air inlets. The Single frame grille with the black
honeycomb now sports even sharper and more distinctive corners. The headlights
are also adapted to the new Singleframe
grille. There are three optional packages – matt aluminum, gloss black and carbon. The central
front air inlet bears the quattro lettering. Modifications have also beenmade to the bumper, with its
distinctive air inlets.
