Volkswagen India has launched the new Vento
sedan which will be available with a range of four-cylinder engines – 1.6 MPI,
1.2 TSI and 1.5 TDI power plants. To fulfil the demands of those keen on an
efficient diesel automatic, the company is offering the new Vento 1.5 TDI with
Volkswagen’s technologically advanced 7-Speed Dual-Clutch DSG automatic
transmission.
Ex-showroom
prices (Mumbai) for the car are Rs 10.49 - 10.94 lakh for the new Vento 1.5 TDI
DSG, Rs 8.57 - 9.90 lakh for the Vento 1.5 TDI, Rs 9.35 - 9.92 lakh for the

results in getting rid of any turbo lag usually associated with
automatics.

efficient 7-Speed DSG with its perfectly timed and executed gearshifts helps
with improving fuel economy and lowering emissions. The DSG transmission is
available in the 1.5 TDI and 1.2 TSI models. The trim options available on the

1.2 TSI (7-speed DSG) has Comfortline and Highline. The new Vento 1.5 TDI (MT)
also has three trims that are Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The new
Vento 1.5 TDI (7-speed DSG) trims are Comfortline and Highline
The
new Vento’s 1.5-litre four-cylinder TDI turbo-diesel engine produces 103bhp and
250Nm of torque. The fuel economy figure stands at 21.21kpl. Other engines in
the new Vento line-up are also similarly accomplished, said a press release
from Volkswagen.
The
1.2 TSI engine produces 103bhp and 175Nm of torque, and delivers 16.93kpl in
terms of fuel economy. The 1.6 MPI engine produces 103 bhp and 153Nm of torque,
and returns 15.04kpl.
There
is much on the safety front with the new Vento as it now includes dual front
airbags on all variants. Then there are redesigned 15-inch alloy wheels, and
new, more powerful dual-beam headlamps. The new Vento also gets a flat-bottomed
multi-function steering wheel with integrated controls for the car’s
entertainment system, footwell lights and Bluetooth telephony. New colours
available for the Vento line-up include Toffee Brown and Night Blue.
