Mahindra Two Wheelers has launched the new Gusto scooter at an introductory price of Rs. 43,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Gusto is powered by an 110cc engine.
The aluminum M-Tech 110cc 4-stroke engine that beats in the heart of the Gusto is air cooled and churns out 8bhp@ 7500rpm and produces 9Nm of torque @ 5500rpm. The new Gusto from Mahindra has a unique road presence and bold styling separating it from the average run of the mill scooters out there.
With bold new innovations from Mahindra Two Wheelers, the Gusto comes with a first time in segment height adjustable seat and locking mechanism to prevent the seat from falling while filling petrol or using the under seat storage area. The height adjustment on the VX variant of the Gusto ranges from 770mm to 735mm providing a very comfortable seating position. Another first in the segment provided by Mahindra Two wheelers are day time running lights (DRLs) on the new Gusto. The scooter also gets a front dashboard to store your mobile phones and other pocket sized items. Some added features on the Gusto are bag hooks in the front leg space and in the under seat area.
The new Gusto comes with 12 inch tubeless tyres and 130mm mechanical drum brakes in the front and rear. The front suspension is a telescopic air springs-hydraulic type and a long stroke hydraulic type at the rear. Another added advantage for consumers on the new Gusto is a front kick which enables you to start the scooter without getting off the vehicle in case the self-start does not do the job.
The scooter has a 6 litre fuel tank and gives 63kmpl of fuel economy giving it an impressive range. The new Gusto will come with Mahindra’s flip key which has the follow me home and find me functions like the Mahindra Centuro.
With Mahindra’s entry into the two wheeler industry six years ago and the setup of their state of the art R&D centre in Pune three years ago, Mahindra Two Wheelers is making its presence felt strongly in the two-wheeler segment with its lineup of bikes and scooters like the Centuro and the Rodeo and now the all new Gusto. This is also the first global scooter to be developed by Mahindra’s R&D center in Pune.
