The new Honda Mobilio multi purpose vehicle (MPV) was launched on
July 23, 2014 in New Delhi at a price beginning Rs 6.49 lakh and going up to Rs
10.86 lakh. The car will be available in both petrol as well as diesel variants.
In both petrol as well as diesel, the car will be available in E, S and V
models. The E model will cost Rs 6.49 lakh for petrol and Rs 7.89 lakh for
diesel. The S model will cost Rs 7.50 lakh for petrol and Rs 8.60 lakh for
diesel. The V model will cost Rs 8.76 lakh for petrol and Rs 9.76 lakh for
diesel. The diesel will also have another variant RS which will cost Rs 10.86
lakh. The RS model will be available from September 2014 onward. The prices are
ex showroom Delhi.
The Mobilio’s closest competitor is the Ertiga from Maruti
Suzuki which is currently priced in the range of Rs 5.80 lakh to Rs 8.49 lakh. The
Honda Mobilio was reviewed by Motown India magazine recently.

The Mobilio is powered by the 1.5 litre iVTEC petrol and
iDTEC diesel. (The Eritga has a 1.4 litre petrol engine and a 1.3 litre diesel
engine). Mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox, the engines produce117bhp@6600rpm (petrol
) and 98bhp@3600rpm (diesel). What Indians will love more about this MPV is
that it churns out with mind boggling fuel economy of 17.3km/l for petrol and
24.2km/l for the diesel. But the Mobilio RS will only be available in the 98bhp
diesel.
The Mobilio is enormously spacious, seating 7 people in a
2+3+2 configuration. the overall length of the car is 4683mm which makes it a
little bit longer than the Ertiga, so there is ample room for relatively tall
people in the front and middle row, but the 3rd row can be a little
cramped for the two people and just like the others in its segment, you sit
with your knees high but there is enough room to keep you from complaining. In
the top model, the seats come with sumptuous beige leather upholstery as in the
RS, but the models below it will come with fabric covered seats.
