Tata
Motors is hopeful of tapping the huge market of NCR in North India with its
newly launched Zest car. The region has around 13 newly revamped Tata Motors
showrooms and over 250 new frontline sales team.
The
company announced its first 100 customers at a special event in New Delhi in the presence of Ranjit Yadav,
President, Passenger Vehicles, Tata Motors and Girish Wagh, Senior Vice
President, Programme Planning & Project Management, Passenger Vehicles, Tata
Motors.
Yadav
said that the Zest will definitely appeal to the largest car market in the
country with its innovative design features, great drive experience and the
exclusive Harman infotainment system. The car comes in two engine options - the
first turbo-charged petrol engine in the segment, Revotron 1.2T, with the
multi-mode drive and the first diesel with an AMT option.
The
Zest is being manufactured at the Pimpri and Ranjangaon Plant in Pune, on a
completely modified X1 platform. With the Zest, Tata Motors claims it has set a
new benchmark in design and performance.
Equipped
with a high boost turbo-charger, the Revotron 1.2T delivers power of 89bhp @
5000 RPM and a peak torque of 140 Nm @ 1750-3500 RPM. The car has a top speed
of 154 kmph. The Diesel 1.3L Quadrajet engine produces 89bhp @ 4000 RPM and 200
Nm @ 1750 -3000 RPM of torque. The car has a top speed of 158 kmph.
The
Revotron 1.2T delivers 17.6 kmpl and the Diesel delivers 23 kmpl.
