In a major marketing initiative, Volvo Auto India, the
Indian arm of Sweden’s Volvo Cars, has launched its first exclusive lounge at Delhi’s
busy T3 airport’s domestic departure terminal. The company has also showcased
the new generation S80 at the terminal.
According
to Sudeep Narayan, Marketing & PR Director, Volvo Auto India, the company
believes in creating unique Scandinavian experiences for its discerning luxury
car customers and prospects. “The lounge is a step towards bringing those
experiences alive. This is 2014’s first such unique initiative, and we have
many more lined up for this year,” he said.
The
lounge is located next to the information desk and is spread over an area of
925sqft having a true Scandinavian luxury experience. Not only will it allow
travellers to relax there before boarding a flight, but would also inform them about
the company’s various products and their USPs.
The
lounge comes with exclusive Volvo Retail Experience (VRE). Volvo carlines would
be on public display at the lounge entrance. But entry is for only those who
are invited by the company and those having Platinum and Gold credits cards. Of course,
entry is also for the VIPs among the fliers.
The
new Generation Volvo S80, showcased at the lounge, features pedestrian and
cyclist detection with full auto brake.
Tomas Ernberg, Managing Director, Volvo Auto
India said, “Terminal 3 IGI Airport is one of the largest aviation hubs in
South Asia with a heavy influx of high profile fliers. Creating a Volvo lounge
at such a strategic location is yet another step closer towards our existing
and prospective customers. It gives them an experience of Volvo’s brand
philosophy ‘Designed Around You’, up close and personal. Partnering with GMR
for our Lounge is a perfect synergy of service wherein together we continuously
work towards the comfort of our customers.”
“Also, with the new Volvo S80 we are taking
our philosophy of ‘Designed Around You’ a step further, for our esteemed
customers with changes designed around their comfort and need. We have focused
on quality and attention to detail in order to give S80 a major boost and
sharpen its competitiveness. When it comes to safety we’re always a step ahead
and a lot safer. The City Safety has been advanced from 30km/h to 50km/h. This
car is retailed through Volvo car dealerships across the country,” Ernberg added.
