London Electric Vehicle Company’s (LEVC) is preparing to launch its electric model TX in India. LEVC is partnering with Exclusive Motors Pvt. Ltd. for the Indian Subcontinent to make TX available in the region. Not only will LEVC create significant employment opportunities in India, the e-city vehicle will also support a green future for India with its innovative range extender.
The TX is powered by LEVC’s proven and innovative eCity technology, zero emissions capable for 101km yet with a flexible range of over 510 km. Featuring a spacious passenger environment with six passenger seats, wheelchair accessibility and a purpose-built partition separating the driver from occupants, combined a class leading 8.45m turning circle, TX is the perfect vehicle for city mobility and suburban flexibility.
The TX is a zero-emission capable vehicle with an onboard charging system and a range extender, which is a great initiative for countries like India, which are transitioning from ICE to fully battery-operated vehicles with limited infrastructure and charging stations at the moment but are rapidly developing. This will help and facilitate the early adoption of electric vehicles.
Alan Gemmell, Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner for South Asia said: “I am pleased that LEVC’s innovative future mobility solutions is embracing the opportunities in India’s dynamic and growing electric vehicle market. The UK and India have ambitious plans to deepen our trade and investment partnership and bring benefits to both economies, and this is a great example of what we can do together.”
London Electric Vehicle Company’s history began in 1908 when the first dedicated black cab was specially designed and commissioned for use in London. With its unmistakable silhouette and classic design cues, this iconic British vehicle has defined the company for over a century. In 2018, LEVC introduced its latest model, the electric TX. TX is powered by LEVC’s revolutionary eCity technology.
Satya Bagla, Managing Director, Exclusive Motors said: “We are glad to have partnered with an iconic brand like LEVC. India is an emerging market for the electric vehicles, and there could not be a better time for LEVC to make its foray into the country.
