The
flagship limousine of the Mercedes stable, the S-Class is referred to as the
‘Best Car in the World’. The new super luxury car, compared to its predecessor,
is longer by 34 mm, wider by 22 mm and taller by 13 mm. It also has a longer
wheelbase (+51 mm) than the outgoing S-Class. There are also a lot of firsts

The
new S-Class comes with completely new rear with intricate designed tail-lamps
giving a modern luxury look. It has active ambient lighting with around 250
LEDs integrated into the driving assistance systems, able to reinforce warnings
visually.
The
new S-Class also boasts of the latest generation of the Driving Assistance
Package which has new and enhanced functions. The comfort levels on the front
passenger seat are assisted by up to 19 motors; 10 different massage programs
are available in the new S-Class.
The
new S-Class has been launched in two variants: Diesel S 400d 4MATIC &
Petrol S 450 4MATIC. The S-Class is one of the world's most aerodynamic cars
with a Cdvalue of 0.22.
The
new S-Class was launched by Martin Schwenk, Managing Director and CEO,
Mercedes-Benz India, and will be available across all Mercedes-Benz dealerships
across the country.
MBUX: a new dimension in personalisation
and interaction
MBUX
has radically changed the operation of a Mercedes-Benz and now the second
generation of MBUX debuts in the new S-Class. The interior of the vehicle is
more digital and intelligent featuring five large displays with OLED
technology. MBUX now offer enhanced personalization options and intuitive
operation. The voice assistant "Hey Mercedes" is even more advanced
and dialogue-capable through activation of online services in the Mercedes me
App. Moreover, certain actions can be performed even without the activation
keyword "Hey Mercedes".
Interior design: generous ambience with a
lounge-like feeling
The
new S-Class has now evolved into a refuge while travelling between the home and
workplace. Nearly all comfort-related dimensions of the S-Class have been
improved in the front as well as on the rear seats. The sense of space is
accordingly generous. The sculptured look of the dashboard, centre console and
armrests appears to float above an expansive interior landscape.
Up
to 19 motors in the front seats makes it easier for passengers to find a
comfortable seating position. The seats also offer ten different massage
programs. They use vibration motors and can enhance the effect of a relaxing
massage.
