Incidentally,
FCA India has not only confirmed the launch of several models in the coming
months in India but has also committed and investment of $250 million (Rs 1828
crore approximately) towards the production of four new Jeep SUVs.
The
all-new local vehicle line-up includes the 2021 made-in-India Jeep Compass, a
locally produced and global-first three-row Jeep SUV, as well as the iconic
Jeep Wrangler and next generation Grand Cherokee flagship, which will both be
locally assembled in FCA’s joint venture manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon,
Maharashtra in western India. The four new products will be on Indian roads by
the end of 2022. The 2021 Jeep Compass is set to be unveiled in India on
January 7, 2021 and production has already commenced. The luxury seven-seat
mid-size Jeep, codenamed H6, will be launched in 2022.
This
month will also see the launch of a new
Hector SUV from MG Motor India. MG Motor India, the British car brand, has
seen a successful journey in India with its products like Hector, Hector Plus
and the ZS electric car.
Toyota Kirloskar Motor will be
launching a new Fortuner SUV, the
flagship product from the Bidadi (Karnataka) based company. Tata Motors too will be launching a new SUV and will probably see some
changes in the Tata Altroz.
Towards
the end of the month, BMW India will
be launching the BMW 3 series Gran
Limousine, Obviously, this 3 series Gran Limousine from BMW will be
offering a lot more space, comfort, luxury and features compared to the already
loaded 3 series.
Volkswagen India too has announced the
launch of the new Taigun which is
expected to be launched in the first half of this year.
