Ford India has introduced the 2014 Ford Fiesta with new looks and better interiors. The 2014 Fiesta also comes with the Sync with Ford AppLink – a hands-free in-car technology to keep drivers connected while on the road.The car will be available in three trims – Ambiente, Trend and Titanium, all powered by the 1.5 L Duratorq diesel engine which gives a fuel efficiency of 25.01 kmpl as per ARAI.The Fiesta’s entry-level trims Ambiente Diesel will be available at Rs. 769,000, followed by Trend Diesel at Rs. 855,720 and top-of-the-line Titanium Diesel at Rs. 929,449. All prices are ex showroom Delhi.Ford’s in-car technology Sync was first introduced in India with the EcoSport. This has now been upgraded to Sync with Ford AppLink in the new 2014 Fiesta. This technology offers voice control over smartphone applications to owners, thereby allowing them to access content, entertainment and information on-the-go.With the Sync and Ford AppLink one can locate a popular restaurant or even stay abreast with cricketing action on-the-move or sharing your location. It will also make it possible through its two India-specific apps -- explore by MapMyIndia and ESPN Cricinfo and one global app Glympse. These apps will be available for download on smart phones on Android and iOS platforms shortly.The sedan will also offer Emergency Assistance (EA) via Sync.The 2014 Ford Fiesta comes with the marquee trapezoidal front grille, giving it a bolder look. Adding to that are the laser-cut wraparound headlamps that sweep back sharply. The power-dome hood design adds to the smart appearance of the car. The tail lamps have been given more detail to be in harmony with the headlamps.The design of the in-car entertainment system is inspired by the logic of the modern mobile phone. Screens, controls and buttons are placed for optimal ergonomic positioning. The sedan will be available in six color options including two new ones – Golden Bronze and Smoke Gray.The sedan boasts of a rigid body structure. A large part of the vehicle’s structure uses high-strength steel with ultra-strong boron steel reinforcing several key points.Technologies like Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) with Pull-Drift Compensation, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlights come with this car.
