Hyundai Blue Link will consist of 33 features out of which,
10 features are exclusive to India. The Venue SUV will get an 8-inch
touchscreen infotainment system and an embedded SIM powered by Vodafone Idea.
The car will be able to switch between 4G, 3G or 2G in order to stay connected
at all times.
Using an app, users will be able to control their vehicle via
their smartphone and even get alerts and vehicle status reports. Blue Link will
give users access to features like remote engine start/stop, remote climate
control, remote door lock/unlock, find my car, vehicle tracking, road side
assistance, SOS, geo fencing, voice control among other features. Hyundai has
also partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS), SoundHound and AccuWeather.
The
cost of the SIM and its services will be free to the customer till the period
of first warranty (the duration of which is yet to be decided) and customers
will have to pay for it after that. Hyundai also plans to bring the Blue Link
platform to other vehicles in the future.
The sketches of the SUV reveal a sharp and bold look all
around. From the chiseled bonnet to the indented side lines, the Venue looks
smart. Adding to the aggressive look at the front are headlamps housed in a
thin cluster and a separate fog lamp cluster below and a split grill. The skid
plates at the front and rear along with the roof rails can also be spotted. On
the inside one can see an automatic transmission lever and a clever cavity just
above the glove box, for storing things. And obviously there is the 8-inch
floating touchscreen infotainment system.
Hyundai will impart knowledge relating to Blue Link to
10,000 sales consultants across their dealers and service touch points using
615 Blue Link Wizards. These Blue Link Wizards are highly trained individuals
who know and understand the technology. The company will also install Blue Link
simulation app across dealerships to give the customers a demo. To make sure
that the customer has no issues in understanding this new technology, the
company has planned an initiative called Blue Link Care Visit, under which Blue
Link Specialists from the company will come and visit customer homes within
7-10 days of the car purchase, to answer any queries that the customer might
have.
