India has launched the ‘Intelligent Superpower’ the E 350 CDI at its Pune
plant. The new E 350 CDI is priced at Rs. 57.42 lakh and is available across
India.
The
new E 350 CDI diesel is equipped with a V6 engine that has a displacement of
2987 cc that generates which generates a
peak power of 192 bhp @ 380 rpm and a peak torque of 620Nm @1600-2400 rpm. The
vehicle attains the speed of 0-100 km/h in a mere 6.6 seconds.
The
new E 350 CDI was launched for the Indian market by Eberhard Kern, Managing
Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India and Ralf Mungenast, Director,
International Inbound Supply Chain, Daimler AG
The
new E 350 CDI has a refined and sporty appearance. The "four-eyed"
look which is typical of the face-lifted E-Class, is retained.
The
radiator with central Star, introduced for the first time with the face-lifted
E-Class, lends an independent and sportier front-end look. A new feature line
runs below the structure from the rear
door
through to the tail light. The car now looks more elongated. The horizontally
structured LED tail lights with new two-tone look impressive while the 17-inch
multi-spoke light-alloy wheels with a high-sheen finish appropriately showcase
the luxury sedan’s sportiness.
The
car comes with a host of technological innovations and advancements. The
Intelligent Assistance Systems comprises Eco Start-Stop function as standard
and also a gamut of features like the Intelligent Lighting Systems featuring
variable light distribution with cornering function, Adaptive high beam assist
360 degree camera, Attention Assist, COMAND Online and a tyre pressure loss
warning system.
There
is also a new interior trim line ‘High gloss black ash wood trim’ on the
dashboard. A high-quality silver chrome frame, the ambient lighting beneath the
dashboard trim and the four door trim strips, augments the mood inside the car
altogether. The memory seats with lumbar support raise the comfort level inside
the car. The premium Artico leather lends to the high class quality of the
upholstery. The driver's seat and the front passenger’s seat have memory
package and can also be electrically adjusted for height, backrest angle and
seat cushion angle. The Comand Online multimedia system for the E 350 CDI with
17.8 cm high-resolution colour display, internet connectivity, USB and
Bluetooth connectivity, a storage space of 10 GB and navigation makes the car a
compelling proposition for the discerning customers. The COMAND Online has the
most advanced telematics function and navigation, covering a vast range of
points of interests like gas stations, ATMs, hospitals, restaurants; hotels
etc, the press release from Mercedes stated.
As
for safety, the car comes with the 8 airbags-- dual stage airbags for driver
and front passenger; Side impact air-bags for driver and front passenger and
window airbags. Features like the Acceleration Skid Control (ASR); Electronic
Stability Program (ESP) with Brake Assist (BA) are also there. There are also systems
like the Pre-Safe technology and Neck Pro - crash responsive head
restraints
for front seats. Also forming part of the standard equipment is Attention
Assist, to warn drivers about inattentiveness and drowsiness. Belt tensioner
and belt force limiter for driver, front passenger and outboard rear seat
passengers and three stage impact protection front crash structure benchmarks
the car’s safety enrichments. Intelligent Light System comes with a variable
light distribution with cornering function, that helps in adapting to any road
conditions during night driving, making the drive safer, and this is
complemented by Adaptive High Beam Assist with automatic switching between high
and low beam.
Not
to miss is the panoramic sunroof. The E 350 CDI boasts of the largest sunroof
in the segment. For the convenience of the driver there is the “Active Parking
Assist” system with integrated Parktronic. The car comes with a full-sized
spare wheel which is best suited for the Indian road conditions and provides
peace of mind, especially on long drives. It has a large 540 litres boot even
though a full size spare wheel is offered as standard with the car.
