Maruti Suzuki India Limited has unveiled the Baleno with a new and bolder look with 6 new colour options. The petrol manual variant starts at Rs 5.45 lakh, petrol CVT at Rs 7.48 and the diesel manual at 6.6 lakh (all prices are ex-showroom Delhi).
The new Baleno features minor exterior changes including a new grille with 3D and precision cut smoked 16-inches alloy wheels. The interiors have also received an update, the biggest of which is the next generation ‘Smartplay Studio’ infotainment system. The new seat fabric and black and navy blue dual-tone interiors enhance the premium-ness. The new 7-inches touch infotainment system combines smartphone, vehicle and cloud-based services to offer a delightful driving experience. Its interface is vibrant and customizable. In addition to listening to your favourite music, you can surf news, get the latest weather updates and also locate eateries around you. The rear parking camera integration, navigation with live traffic and vehicle information and alerts on the screen further add to the driving convenience.

The new Baleno comes based on the HEARTECT platform and offers enhanced safety for its occupants. The use of high tensile steel helps to improve overall safety by making the body more rigid and stronger. Safety features including dual airbags, ABS (antilock braking system) with EBD (electronic brake force distribution) and brake assist, pre-tensioner and force limiter seat belts with reminder, ISOFIX child restraint system, speed alert system and rear parking sensors are standard across variants. Baleno complies with offset, side crash and pedestrian safety norms.
The car is still powered by the 1.2L petrol engine which produces 83hp of peak power and 115Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual or an automatic CVT. The 1.3L diesel engine also remains the same and comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, outputting 74hp and 119Nm of torque.
