Italian luxury and sports car manufacturer Maserati has launched the 2018 Quattroporte GTS in India. The sedan was first unveiled at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show and will now be available to the Indian buyer for a whopping price of Rs. 2.7 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The Quattroporte GTS is considered to be one of the fastest offerings from the Italian manufacturer and can achieve a top speed of 310kmph.
Powering the Quattroporte GTS is a 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 engine which produces 530hp from 6500-6800 rpm. The V8 engine belts out a beefy 710Nm of torque which propels the sedan from 0-100kmph in just a mere 4.7 seconds. The engine in the GTS has been mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission developed by ZF Transmissions. It is able to modify shift patterns according to the drivers style of driving. Safety features on the new Quattroporte GTS include stability program, adaptive full LED headlamps, 6 airbags and active headrests.
The new 2018 Quattroporte GTS is available in two different trims - GranLusso and GranSport. The GranLusso gets a discreet front spoiler, chrome bumper inserts, body coloured side skirts and GranLusso badging. The GranSport gets a dynamic style with subtly incorporated body sculpted angles for the central front and side intakes, aerodynamic splitters in the lower section. The centre spoiler and side intakes have been finished in piano black. The GranSport package also gets the option of an exterior carbon package. This includes carbon finishing on the ORVMs, door handles, B-Pillar and profile of the front bumper.
Maserati is offering an 8.4' touch enabled infotainment unit on the new 2018 Quattroporte GTS. The system known as Maserati Touch Control Plus(MTC+) can be controlled using touch input, a rotary control on the centre console and voice commands. The touch infotainment unit comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets a wifi option. The Italian manufacturer is offering the new 2018 Quattroporte GTS with two audio systems - a powerful 900watt 10 speaker Harman Kardon system which comes fitted as standard. Those who want even better acoustics can choose a 1280 watt, 15 speaker Bowers and Wilkins sound system. Maserati launched the Quattroporte GTS globally in September 2017 but Indian consumers who buy this sedan will get delivery at same time as any other consumer globally.
