The new Renault Captur has a
whole host of premium features like Innovative Lighting Systems (ILS), Ergo
design leather seats and OneIntegration concept - Renault’s design approach
that seamlessly connects car and driver through a plethora of innovations. The
car will be equipped with a host of active and passive safety features and will
be available with both petrol and diesel powertrains.
The Renault Captur has been built
on the globally successful B0 platform which incidentally is the stretched
wheelbase platform from which was
derived the Duster. The company has commenced the production of Captur and is
preparing for a festive season launch, with bookings opening from September 22
on the Renault Captur App and Renault India website at an initial booking
amount of Rs 25,000.
The Renault Captur was
unveiled in the presence of Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director,
Renault India Operations, The vehicle is the widest and longest in its
category, with a ground clearance of 210mm (unladen). The car boasts of an elevated
driving position that offers wraparound panoramic visibility.
The Innovative Lighting
Systems (ILS) consists of a sparkle full LED headlamps with unique floating
side indicators, C-shaped Sapphire LED DRLs and Ripple Tail Lamps. There is LED
ambient lighting inside the car. The vehicle sits on R17 Crystal Cut alloys.
The exterior design of the
vehicle is accentuated by the powerful bonnet creases and the front bumper,
with Satin Finish Front & Rear Skid Plates, together with the thick fenders.
There is a dash of chrome on its front and sides.
The Captur Platine features
ultra-premium white and gold interiors and takes the feel of sophistication a
notch higher with AC vents engulfed in chrome, along with the stylish bezel
with golden finish.
The car comes with ErgoDesign
leather seats which offer immense comfort. These seats are 6-way adjustable and
feature enhanced lumbar support, along with pronounced lateral support.
On the inside, the Infinity
Instrument Cluster enables a complete cockpit experience. The car has a user-friendly
new generation Integrated Intelligent ULC 3.0 multimedia navigation system which
comes with a seven-inch display featuring radio and Bluetooth technology, voice
recognition (for iOS), maps along with temperature and time display.
The Renault Captur is equipped
with an automatic AC with surround illumination and rear cooling vents . As for
safety, the vehicle is built on a reinforced body and is equipped with a host
of active and passive safety features including dual airbags, side airbags,
Antilock-Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) &
Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Hill Start Assist.
In addition, it will also come
with a Cruise Control feature that helps maintain a pre-selected speed without
acceleration and a Speed Limiter, which restricts speed within limits selected
by the driver. It will also have 2 lateral ISOFIX fixtures with top-tether in
the rear seat for enhanced child safety.
Renault Captur will come with
both petrol and diesel powertrains. For the petrol option, it will be powered
by the 16 valves 4 cylinder 1.5L H4K petrol engine mated to a 5 speed manual
gear box, producing 104.5 bhp at 5,600 rpm and 142 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The diesel version will be
powered by the 1.5L K9K diesel engine (common rail injection), mated to 6 speed
manual gear box, delivering a maximum power of 108.4 bhp at 4,000 rpm and peak
torque of 240 Nm at 1,750 rpm.
The Renault Captur takes
personalisation to a completely different level. Renault will also offer the
option of further enhancing both the car’s interior and exterior with 2
innovative themed personalisation packs – Diamond Deck and Urban Connect, which
are the result of a collaboration between Renaults design studios in India and
France. Also on offer are a choice of add-ons which further enhance the
personalisation options.
