The country's second largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor
India Ltd. unveiled the 5th generation Verna sedan. The company has announced
the commencement of pre-bookings across India at Hyundai dealerships. The new Verna
will feature some best in class features and will be powered by a 1.6L CRDi
diesel and a 1.6L VTVT Petrol engine.
Both engines will be available with 6-speed manual and
6-speed automatic transmissions. The new Hyundai Verna gets a body structure
made from 50pc Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS). This new body structure
improves body rigidity and crash performance. It also improves control over the
sedan and ensures adequate weight control for better performance and fuel
efficiency.
Hyundai has also claimed low NVH levels on the new Verna
which has been achieve with the application of sound absorption materials and
improved engineering design. The 5th gen Verna has been built on Hyundai's K2
platform which enables precise tuning of the sedan's key suspension components
thus enabling enhanced cornering and high speed stability, improved ride
comfort and precise handling.
Hyundai may offer the following features on the new Verna --
cruise control, automatic climate control, reverse camera, parking sensors,
electrically adjustable and retractable ORVMs, auto dimming IRVM, projector
headlamps and LED DRLs, 5-spoke alloys, touch screen infotainment with
navigation and connectivity for Bluetooth, AUX and USB, Ventilated front seats,
12V power sockets, cooled glove box, keyless entry, push button start/ stop,
rear ac vents, voice commands, steering mounted controls, rear centre arm rest
and cup holders.
