Powering the new SUV are two engines -- a
2.0L, Multijet Turbo, diesel which produces 170hp and a 1.4L, Multi Air Turbo,
petrol which produces 159.7hp. The diesel variant is capable of churning out a
maximum torque of 350Nm while the petrol motor can generate 250Nm of torque. The
diesel powered Compass is only being offered with a 6-Speed manual transmission
while the petrol variant of the compass gets options of a 6-Speed manual or a
7-Speed DDCT (Dry Dual Clutch Technology) automatic transmission.
The Compass is manufactured out of
FCA's Joint Venture manufacturing facility in Ranjangaon. The Jeep Compass is
manufactured using 65pc of locally sourced components.
The Compass is available in three different
trims -- Sport, Longitude and Limited.
Introduces customer
care brand Mopar in India
The Jeep Compass will be retailed out of 50
Jeep-flagship and FCA outlets, across 47 cities at the time of launch and
further expand to 60 outlets by the end of this calendar year. As part of the
preparation for the go-to-market strategy FCA has now introduced its Global
service and customer care brand Mopar in India. All 48 FCA authorised workshops
across 48 Indian cities are now Mopar-branded and technicians are specially
trained as per global standards and diagnostic techniques to attend to all
service-related issues should they arise.
Mopar, an 80-year old North American
after-sales and customer service brand will be managing services related to
vehicle insurance, extended warranty, annual maintenance packages, Jeep Express
Lane service, battery program and tyre replacement program, right across India,
under the Mopar Vehicle Protection plan.
The Jeep Compass will be available with a
three-year / 100,000 km manufacturer’s warranty and in addition, a
complimentary Road-side Assistance (RSA) package for three years. Customers can
avail of an extended warranty program to enjoy additional warranty up to one or
two years.
