Japanese auto maker Isuzu launched their new MU-X 7-seater SUV in
India for a starting price of Rs. 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The company
has launched the MU-X in two variants, one is a 4x2 while the other a 4x4. The
latter has been priced at Rs. 25.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new 2017
Isuzu MU-X comes with a 3.0 litre diesel engine and gets a fuel efficiency
figure of 13.8 kms per litre.
The new Isuzu MU-X will compete against the Toyota Fortuner and the
Ford Endeavor. While the Fortuner and Endeavor are established players in the
market, Isuzu plans to take on the segment with its aggressive pricing. Isuzu
is only offering the MU-X with a 5-speed automatic transmission with sequential
shift. The Japanese brand is offering the new SUV to consumers in a 4x2 variant
and a 4x4 variant. The 3.0 litre, 4 cylinder engine puts out 174.5bhp at
3600rpm and gets a peak torque of 380Nm from 1800-2800rpm.
In terms of features, the new Isuzu MU-X will offers automatic
climate control, ac vents for all three rows, separate blower controls for rear
seats, pollen and fine particle air filter, power windows, passive entry and
start system, keyless entry, power adjustable and retractable ORVMs, cruise
control, 7-inch infotainment setup with connectivity for Bluetooth, AUX, USB, 8
Speaker setup, roof mounted 10 inch DVD entertainment monitor, tilt adjustable
steering, steering mounted controls, MID, Terrain Command with 2WD High, 4WD
High and 4WD Low range, rear window wiper, day/ night inside rear view mirror,
glove box with light, dash mounted utility box, 3 12V power sockets, 2 USB
ports, dual purpose driver and front passenger cup holders, sunglass holder and
2nd row centre arm rest with cup holders.
