Company
officials did not disclose the performance parameters of the bike and nor did
they disclose the price. Bookings for the bike begin at a price of Rs 1000 from
June 25, 2019 on its website www.revoltmotors.com
and Amazon in Delhi and will be followed by NCR, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad,
Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Chennai in the next four months. The bike will be currently
available in two bold color options - Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.
This
electric motorcycle is a good looker with DRLs, disc brakes on both wheels, and
has a belt driven mechanism. The lithium ion battery is stored in the area
where the fuel tank is positioned, hidden away from prying eyes and also
ensuring a very aerodynamic look to the bike. Features include an all digital
instrument cluster, alloy wheels, straight handlebars, dual shockers in front
and a single coil suspension at the rear, enhance the sportiness of the bike.
But
what the company did explain was that AI-enabled motorcycle has an ARAI
certified 156km on a single charge. The bike comes with three ride modes- Eco,
City and Sport. Since it is an AI bike, it is powered by the Revolt App which
is available on both Android and iOS. The app comes with connectivity features
like Bike Locator, door-step battery delivery, mobile swap stations, anti
theft, sound selection and preview, Geo fencing up to 50km, etc.
One
interesting app function is the sound selection and preview. Here you must
realise that electric bikes are silent like any other electric vehicle. Now for
bikes to be silent is like a man without his voice. With this function, you can
select from around four different pre set sounds and as the bike moves the
sound is heard to outsiders and with each throttle response, the sound volume
also changes.
Now
coming to charging, this bike can be charged in different ways. Like all
elective vehicles this one too has on board charging which means you can plug
your bike directly to a 15 ampere socket to charge.
Second,
since the battery is portable, you can easily take it out and charge it at your
home or office. Third, you can also order a battery through mobile app. The
system finds the nearest mobile swap station on the Revolt mobile app to order
your battery. The swapping takes barely 60 seconds. Fourth, you can also
pre-order your battery using the revolt app and have them delivered at your
location at a convenient time slot.
The
Revolt app adapts to the rider’s personal riding behaviour and becomes a
companion by intelligently guiding them for an enhanced riding experience. The
app is powered by a telematics data collected from the 4G enabled IOT device in
the bike and runs powerful analytics at the backend to give relevant insights
into the user’s biking trips.
The
app has more than 20 features. While some of them have been explained, others
include real time bike information such as current battery percentage, bike
mode and estimated range, bike start/stop through Bluetooth, bike diagnostics
of battery and ECU, user trips and details like start and stop location,
average speed, total distance travelled, time taken etc, upload and store
important bike and user documents like driving license, RC copy, among others.
Now
what to be seen is how much is this very practical electric bike going to be
priced at. Now that is information we all are looking forward to.
