With
this launch, HMSI or Honda 2 Wheelers, has made its entry into the growing
middle weight motorcycle segment in India. The Neo Sports Café family is Honda’s
ultra modern minimalist take on the timeless roadster design. The CB300R is
inspired from its powerful sibling CB1000R Neo Sports Café which was originally
showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show 2017.
The
motorcycle was unveiled in the presence of Minoru Kato, president & CEO, and
Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President- Sales & Marketing, HMSI. The new Honda CB300R will be available in two
colours- matte axis gray metallic and candy chromospheres red. The CB300R is already booked for over three
months based on the company’s production plan. The introduction CB300R will
debut the new premium silver wing-mark in India.
The
Honda CB300R, in terms of its styling, mixes café racer inspirations with super
compact trapezoid form. The engine and casings and blacked out, while it has
brushed aluminium radiator shroud, premium finish parts of steel tabular frame
and a chrome underslung dual chamber exhaust.
All
lights including the indicators on the CB300R are LED. The round metal rim
headlight with its built-in horseshoe come armed with signature tw0-bar light
feature while the taillight is the thinnest ever to be mounted on a Honda
motorcycle. The thin lightweight and fully digitalized LCD meter display
provides speed, engine rpm, fuel level and gear position simply with warning
lights displayed across the top.
The
front 37.6cm3 hubless floating disc and 30.0cm3 rear floating disc are
modulated by 2 channel ABS which works on an Inertial Measurement Unit
(IMU). The IMU action gives the uniform
front to rear distribution of ABS operation and maintain stability of vehicle
even during sudden brake application.
At
147kg, the CB300R is the lightest motorcycle in its segment. The brand new
frame mixes pressed and tabular steel and is anchored by pressed steel swingarm
pivot plates and swingarm delivers agile handling with stability. Complimenting
this are the 41mm USD front forks. The
bike comes with fat bar-style handlebars with 40deg radius, 2.3m turning
radius, single rear shock with 5-speed spring loaded adjustment and compact
1344mm wheelbase.
