India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd has begun 2019 by launching ABS equipped models for a number of their motorcycles. Leading the pack was the new FZ FI and FZ-S FI Version 3.0, which get single channel ABS. Along with these, Yamaha also launched their FZ 25, Fazer 25 and R15 Version 3.0 with dual channel ABS.
The new Yamaha FZ FI and FZS FI Version 3.0 come equipped with Bosh single channel ABS and sport new and muscular looks. There is a new LED headlamp, inspire by the FZ 25 that has separate high and low beam units. The FZ FI ABS costs Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) while the FZS FI ABS cost Rs 97,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The FI variant gets a chrome air intake and engine shield. The engine is the same 149cc air cooled, single cylinder that produces 13hp@8000rpm and 12.8Nm of peak torque at 6000rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed transmission and there is a fat 140/7017 inch tyre at the rear. For the ease of riders, there is an LCD instrument panel.
The FZ 25 ABS version costs Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) and the Fazer 25 costs Rs 1.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Both bikes produce 20.6hp and 20 Nm of peak torque. The 249cc fuel injected, single cylinder motor comes mated to a 5-speed transmission. You get a rear disc brake and dual channel ABS. The Fazer 25 comes in Dark Matte Blue and Metallic Black colours while the FZ 25 comes in Dark Matte Blue, Matte Black and Cyan Blue. Yamaha also showcased their YZF-R15 Version 3.0 which now comes with dual channel ABS and costs Rs 1.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) along with a Darknight colour option which takes the cost up to Rs 1.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
