Jhabakh, Director – Mahavir Group, spearheads Benelli’s operations in India
through Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), which is a subsidiary of Mahavir
Group, one of the leading automobile dealers in the country. AARI has been
chosen as a preferred partner by Benelli, to distribute Benelli’s exclusive
product range in the country. The
company is setting up an assembly plant for Benelli in Hyderabad and will
assemble, manufacture bikes and import exclusive range of Benelli bikes from
Italy & South East Asia regions.
Originally
an Italian brand, Benelli in 2005 became a part of Qjian Jiang (QJ) group,
China. The QJ factory is located at Wenling, about 500 km away from Shanghai.
The production capacity of the plant is 12,00,000 vehicles per year, with about
14,000 employees. With the new synergy between Italy and China, Benelli Q.J. is
currently working on multiple projects and aims to establish Benelli across
global markets.
Further
strengthening Benelli Q.J’s position in the global market is Geely’s recent
$166 million investment in parent company QJ, giving it 29.77% ownership of
QJ’s equity. This makes Qjian Jiang, China’s second largest motorcycle
manufacturer.
