Also on display was the brand new MV Agusta Superveloce. The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 made its
debut, in concept form, at the EICMA, a precursor to the model that will be
produced in the second half of 2019. The carbon fibre fairing envelopes the
sleek and functional forms of the engine and frame like a second skin. The
upper fairing, with its classic cut lines, makes tribute to design ethos of the
nineteen-seventies, highlighted by the yellow colour of the plexiglass
windscreen and the headlight unit. The latter is a technologically advanced
twin-function full LED poly- ellipsoidal. The daylight running light, also LED,
is built into the cover of the new instrument cluster. The elusive, lightweight
and minimalistic tail fairing rests on a new sub-frame allowing the user to
transform the bike from a single seat to a dual seat version. One of the
defining details is the new circular LED tail light unit, elegant, and
distinctive.
The name “America” holds a prominent place in the MV Agusta
heritage. The primary reference is to the “S America 750”, a model that dates back
to 1975 and which boasted an in-line four-cylinder engine with dual overhead
camshaft, 75 horsepower and air cooling. The MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR America will be made in a limited edition
of just 200 units, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The saddle
boasts stitching with gold highlights and unique materials for the areas
dedicated to the rider and the passenger. The beautiful spoke wheels pay homage
to the colours of the American flag: blue hub, red spokes and white rim. The
glossy black finish of some components stands out, such as the front mudguard
with the MV Agusta logo and the side of the radiator with the “America Special
Edition” decal which also graces the instrument cluster cover along with the
progressive production number.
The evolution of the Brutale project finds a synthesis in
the 1000 Gold Series, which will be
produced in only 300 samples. The history and unique style of this
one-of-a-kind bike returns more attractive and modern than ever. The reworked
engine is part of the revolution: scheme with central distribution chain and
radial valves, all has been redesigned, starting from the combustion chamber to
the lubrication. The aim? Concentrated performance, smooth running and absolute
reliability. A detail that says a lot about the efficiency of this bike is
embodied by the winglets on the sides of the radiator: they have the purpose to
improve stability when exceeding 250 kmp h.
The collaboration between Pirelli and MV Agusta continues.
The result of this partnership is the latest limited edition gem Dragster 800
RR Pirelli, outstanding for its streetfighter’s design and powerful
three-cylinder heart. Pirelli experts not only personalised the look of the
bike offering two different colour combinations - black/yellow and white/blue -
but also enhanced some other elements, like the fairing and the tank slide,
created with a special rubber. Both components are recognisable thanks to the
“flash", symbol that distinguishes the tyres of the Diablo range,
including the Diablo Supercorsa SP
that equip this exclusive model (120/70 ZR17 front and 200/55 ZR17 rear).
