Hero Splendor iSmart is the new FILL IT, SHUT IT, FORGET IT motorcycle

Remember the Hero Honda advertisement of the 1980s when the CD 100 motorcycle came with the punch line “Fill it. Shut it. Forget it” and the bike used to boast of 80km per litre of fuel? The same company (it is now Hero MotoCorp) has raised its bar several notches high. The company claims that its Splendor iSmart is the most fuel efficient bike in the world with a claim of 102kmpl of fuel economy. Yes, it’s now a three-digit figure!

With over two million Splendours selling every year, the Splendor brand with all its variants; Splendor+, Splendor Pro, Splendor Pro Classic, the 125cc Super splendour and the Splendor iSmart, it is the largest selling brand in the world. Hero has managed to sell over 300,000 units of the Splendor iSmart since its launch a year back already.

The Splendor iSmart is powered by a 100cc air cooled 4 stroke single cylinder engine producing 8bhp@7500rpm and 8Nm of torque@4500rpm fitted with an automatic stop start system. Hero claims that their Splendor iSmart can achieve a fuel economy of 102.5kmpl to take the title of the most fuel efficient motorcycle in the world. The values come with a certification from iCAT (International Centre for Automotive Technology) and have been obtained in the mandatory emission test specified in Rule 115 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) 1989, under controlled conditions using a reference fuel at an agency authorised by Rule 126 of the said Rules. iCAT is a division of NATRIP Implementation Society (NATIS) of the government of India.

The iSmart is available in two different variant drum self-spoke & self-Cast at ex-showroom price of Rs. 50,000/- and Rs.51,100/-.
