Leading motorcycle manufacturer Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Ltd (HMSI) has launched a new CB Unicorn 160 motorcycle at Rs 69,350, ex showroom Delhi) for the standard version. The CBS version is priced at Rs 74,414, ex showroom Delhi. The motorcycle is powered by a 163cc mid-sized advanced Honda engine. The motorcycle has been conceptualised keeping the youth in mind and is targeted at those in the age group of 25 to 35 years.
Powered by Honda Eco Technology, the engine delivers adequate power and torque even at lower speeds. The bike will be available in six colours which include Imperial Red Metallic, Pearl Black, Sunbeam White, etc.
The new CB Unicorn is Honda’s fourth launch in 2014. Other launches include the Activa 125 scooter, CD110 motorcycle and the Gold Wing cruiser. Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, HMSI, said the company hoped to carry the momentum into the next year too.
The motorcycle is 2045mm in length and has a height of 1060mm and a wheelbase of 1324mm. It has a ground clearance of 150mm and a kerb weight of 135kg. It has a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres. The 4 stroke, SI engine with a cylinder capacity of 162.71cc delivers 14.5bhp @8000rpm and a peak torque of 14.61 Nm @6000rpm.
With a five-speed gearbox, the bike can do a maximum speed of 106km. The front tyre has a dimension of 80/100-17, while the rear tyre has 110/80-17. The tyres are tubeless. The bike has disc brake in front and drum brake at the rear. The front suspension is telescopic while the rear comprises spring loaded hydraulic type (Monoshock).
