Tyre major Bridgestone India
Pvt. Ltd. has joined hands with Pune police to promote road safety awareness in
the city. The company presented traffic safety (crash) barricades, reflective
jackets and traffic light batons to Pune City Police in an event held near Pune
airport.
The traffic safety gears were
presented by Bridgestone to Manoj Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police. The
event was graced by Ms. Swapana Gore, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Khadaki
Division, Suresh Kumar Vajpayee-CISF, George Varghese, Chief Security
Officer-Airport, Sanjay Kurundkar, Sr. Police Inspector and Vittal Darekar,
Police Inspector Crime, Ms. Milan Harchekar from Vimantal Police station.

said, “Bridgestone has always considered people as the most valuable resource
and safeguarding their health and safety is of the utmost importance. Through
this activity the company would like to promote the importance of safe driving
- one of the priorities on Bridgestone’s global manifesto. Through such
initiatives, Bridgestone aims to help Pune police increase awareness about road
safety and reduce the number of road accidents.”

Commissioner of Police, Pune city police remarked, “Road safety is of paramount
importance and it is necessary to take adequate measures to raise its
awareness. We are pleased to have Bridgestone India supporting us in promoting
safer driving for the people in Pune”.
