After Nissan
revived Datsun globally, through the Nissan-Renault Alliance, it introduced the
brand into India a year ago. April 11, 2015 marked the first anniversary of
Datsun in India for which the company hosted the ‘Datsun Drive-On’ cavalcade in
Delhi, bringing over 100 Datsun owners to celebrate the occasion.
The Datsun
Drive-On convoy which consisted of both the Datsun Go and the Go+ cars was
flagged off by Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations and
Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurana. The Drive-On campaign will be hosted across
seven cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Cochin, Ahmedabad,
and Guwahati.
Datsun will
also celebrate their anniversary in India with underprivileged children at 100
different locations across the country.
The
celebrations also included a musical performance by Ayushmann Khurrana along
with musicians from the Indian band Faridkot. The trio was joined on stage by
Guillaume Sicard who sang along with the band.
Speaking on
the occasion, Sicard stated that “India was the first market to begin selling
Datsun products after it was announced in 2012 that the brand would be
reintroduced, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone in Datsun’s history
in India. “
Sicard added
that “Since then Datsun has had an encouraging year in India as well as other world
markets. Both Datsun Go and Go+ have been received well in India and we look
forward to adding more products to our portfolio in the future.”
Datsun
vehicles are available in India through a network of 176 Nissan-Datsun
dealerships and outlets in India.
