Shell
Lubricants, the global market leader in finished lubricant solutions organised
a National Synthetic Lubes Seminar to showcase its technological superiority in
synthetic lubricants. The company had organised a similar event last year. The
seminar brought together OEMs, customers and industry experts on one platform
to discuss the latest developments and trends in the industry and deliberate on
the challenges faced by them.
This year’s
seminar provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss the challenges
they face in terms of lubrication in different environment as per individual requirements.
Some of the key trends like GTL Technology, Synthetic Technology in Open Gear
Lubrication, Synthetic Gear Oil Technologies, Technology trends in Gearbox
maintenance & lubricant practices etc were discussed by panelists including
Felix Guerzoni, Shell Global Product Application Specialist and Ian Martin, Asia
Key Account and Competence Development Manager, Greases.

Felix Guerzoni, Shell Global Product
Application Specialist, the key developer of the turbine oil ‘Shell Turbo T’ said “Innovation, Product Application and technical partnerships are
at the heart of Shell Lubricants.” He continued that Shell aims to help in
finding practical solutions to the challenges faced by their customers by
working closely with them. With a commitment to develop and provide next Sgeneration
of lubricants that will deliver improved energy efficiency for customers
without any compromise.
At the
seminar, Ian Martin & Felix Guerzoni, justified that their synthetic
lubricant solutions are a smart investment for any customer and they are made
of newly created molecules, which are designed to meet demanding
specifications. Their structure is closely controlled to help provide the
superior performance and properties, such as extra-long oil life and reduced
fluid friction, required to lubricate today’s advanced industrial machinery
efficiently. Also added clarity to the many questions raised by OEMs and
industry experts that Shell Lubricants can help to safeguard capital investment
by protecting the equipment from wear and corrosion, even under the most severe
condition while offering the longest life oils and greases in the Shell range. Finishing
off with how extending lubricant life saves money by cutting maintenance costs
and reducing product and energy consumption.
The first
edition of the seminar was well received by 120 participants comprising Shell
Lubricants’ customers, prospects & OEMs from different industrial sectors
including gear box manufacturer, process industry like cement plants, steel,
mining, auto components etc and the quality of sessions with the experience
provided was well appreciated by the attendees.
